Leonardo da vinci: 500 years of genius (1519 - 2019)

Hello my dear students! I would like to introduce you to the genius of Leonardo da Vinci. This year marks the 500th anniversary of his Death.

Who was Leonardo da Vinci?

Leonardo da Vinci (April 15, 1452 - May 2, 1519) was an Italian polymath, having been a scientist, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, painter, sculptor, architect, botanist, musician and writer. Leonardo has often been described as the archetype of the "Renaissance man". He is widely considered to be one of the greatest painters of all time and perhaps the most diversely talented person ever to have lived.

😃Task 4. Watch the video and read about Da Vinci's inventions on the following ThingLink. Then create an advertisement that sells and explains a da Vinci invention using a video recorder app. Then post it on the padlet of your class. All members of your group must be involved in the presentation. The advertisement must include a clear explanation of how the invention works. This means using concepts of simple machines to justify how and why the invention works so well. 

Driving questions to create the add:

1)  Name of the Invention.
2) Name four parts of the invention.
3) How does it work?
4) Why is it worth to buy it?

😃Task 5.  Leonardo da Vinci was a painter, a sculptor and an architect at the same time. Describe one of his most famous paintings and drawings. Record a podcast/video of the description.
